Venice Fashion Week 2023
Research and Sustainability are at the heart of this spring edition featuring Ornamenti Atelier, an event showcasing fashion artisans.
Venetian Fashion Week enriches the exploration into Sustainability with the first of a series of conferences with institutions and stakeholders of international and Venetian tourism – hoteliers, foundations, guides, communicators, and experts – to explore innovative projects and sustainable pathways, and plan together the transition of Venice to a sustainable destination. The Fashion and Tourism businesses are both based on principles of social and environmental responsibility. On Saturday, April 1, 2023, The Sustainable Fashion Day – the talk with experts, journalists, and designers on sustainable fashion – is back, focusing on the value of work in fashion and textiles employing new economic and contractual arrangements, social change, and conscious shopping.
And so continues the discussion on craftsmanship as a value for the future of the planet, which began in 2018 with the Make it last conference that presented Venice as a laboratory for designing sustainable lifestyles, and then again in 2019 with Sustainable Fashion Day organized with the British Consulate, featuring Marina Spadafora of Fashion Revolution Italia, British Ambassador Jill Morris, and designers Patrick McDowell and Tiziano Guardini.
Like every year, the event takes place in palaces, historic residences, and public spaces of Venice and involves the communities of Venetian digital communicators and creatives, called to create scenarios to imagine the future.
Venice Fashion Week is a project of Venezia da Vivere, a Venetian company that deals with digital communication, projects for the city, and events, and has a partnership with the City of Venice.
