JEUX D’EAU - GIOCHI D’ACQUA

Anna Rigoni wishes to propose a solo piano concert dedicated to the element of water. Liszt, the famous Hungarian pianist, considered one of the greatest piano virtuosos of all time, was the first composer in piano literature to write music with such iridescent colours, recreating the sparkle of water on the piano in Les jeux d'eaux à la Villa d'Este.  His work will influence composers of the new generations, such as Debussy, Albeniz, Scriabin and above all Ravel, whose Jeux d'eau is an explicit homage to Liszt right from the title. This musical journey from the timbral games of Liszt and Debussy, to the reminiscences of Lisztian mythological experiences, from the dark agitation of Scriabin's deep sea to the brightness of Ravel's impressions of moving water, invites the listener to contemplate the beauty of life, to navigate through its storms, and then rise again in an experience that celebrates the purification of man through the symbolism of water
