---Ca' Pesaro and the Museum of Oriental Art are colosed after the exceptional high tide that hit Venice---
The exhibition presents fourteen young generation artists from London who use different artistic media: painting, sculpture, video, photography, installation and performance.
Most of the work has never been shown before, and is in many cases site-specific in its delineation of the post-1990s contemporary London cultural scene seen through the topical immediacy of its most innovative exponents.
The starting point is Sensation: Young British Artists from the Saatchi Collection, the London exhibition inaugurated on 18 September 1997 at the Royal Academy of Arts. Curated by Norman Rosenthal, Michael Craig-Martin and Charles Saatchi, it showcased more than forty-two artists and is now considered a fundamental moment for international culture in recent decades, especially for the diffusion of the Young British Art movement.
London Bridge is an account based on a constantly evolving subject, a work in progress focused on the cultural ferment that currently animates London, the centre of some of the most significant post-war European art revolutions and a constant reference point for innovation in contemporary society.
With London Bridge Ca’ Pesaro once again demonstrates its ongoing commitment as a gallery at the contemporary forefront.
