The Forest of the Doges.

Dedicated to the Cansiglio forest in collaboration with Ca' Foscari.

In its heyday, the Arsenale was one of the most important economic resources of the city and the fleet was undoubtedly the best means of communication and expansion of the city. The forests of the Veneto region, especially the Cansiglio and the iron mines were the main sources of raw material. The aim of the exhibition is to highlight how our forests have contributed to the life and splendour of Venice. In particular, the extraordinary resources of the Cansiglio forest, which provided materials for the construction of the great Venetian fleet, will be highlighted. A side event will be a conference with experts in the sector who will talk about the theme of the "wood" resource, its potential, its reuse and its sustainability.
