Venice and the Justice

Reading and official closing appointment of Venezia Rivelata (project)

After the event "Being Venice" in St. Marks Square, the writer Alberto Toso Fei will tell ancient stories regarding the laws that Venice has issued in the course of its history: the abolition of the slave trade (the first state in the world to do it, in 960); the regulations on child labor, in force since the end of the fourteenth century to protect children and girls; the recognition of intellectual property, with the creation of the first "copyright " in history; the laws enacted to protect women's rights.

Alberto Toso Fei will present a flash reading during the event in Piazza San Marco, and a more exhaustive one from 8.30 pm in Pescheria Rialto. We will show the videos of the previous performances, we’ll present all the local charity associations that were supported in the project and we’ll also present the collaboration of this stage, an international one, as "The Chelko Foundation" of Atlanta, which operates in favor of equal rights, in particular women’s ones.
