VENEZIA PANORAMICA

La scoperta dell’orizzonte infinito

The largest view of Venice ever made: it is the one painted in 1887 by the venetian painter and decorator Giovanni Biasin.
It is exhibited for the first time after the recent conservative restoration that has brought its original colors back to life

Slightly higher than one meter and seventy centimeters and twenty-two meters long, it is an outstanding scenery of the city.

There will also be the possibility to admire about sixty engravings and paintings representing an exciting journey: starting from tiny fifteenth-century woodcut vignettes that are mainly focused on St. Mark’s square and gradually expanding towards even wider glimpses of the venetian skyline that embraces the whole horizon.

Curated by Giandomenico Romanelli and Pascaline Vatin
