Shirin Neshat, Iranian born in 1957, lives and works in New York. Sh studied art in Los Angeles in the years of the Iranian revolution, around 1978-79. She saw her home country changing under Islam in the 1990s. As a means of expression she choses photography, but also installations (conceptual) and cinema (space-time dynamic). Her work is primarily concerned on women identuty in particular; a job that she herself calls "personal, political, emotional". In The Home of My Eyes Shirin Neshat presents a cycle of 55 photographs created by the artist from 2014 to 2015 and still ever exposed in Europe. These are portraits of individual residents in different regions of Azerbaijan – who recalled the artist on her native country, Iran, each with a different religious belief but all, installation, presented as part of the same community.
