The defense of one of the last natural areas not yet exploited by man, the imminent danger of global warming, awareness on environmental sustainability and climate change, a dialectic between nature and civilization.
These are the topics of the exhibition Artico. Ultima frontiera (Arctic. Last frontier to be held) from January 15th to April 2nd, 2017 at the Casa dei Tre Oci in Venice.
The exhibition, curated by Denis Curti, presents 120 images, strictly black and white, taken by three masters of reportage photography, such as Paolo Solari Bozzi (Rome, 1957), Ragnar Axelsson (Kopavogur, Iceland, 1958) and Carsten Egevang ( Taastrup, Denmark, 1969).
The review is a thorough investigation, through three different angles, on a large region of the planet that includes Greenland, Siberia, Alaska, Iceland, and the life of the Inuit population of 150,000 people only, forced to manage, in their daily lives, the difficulty of a hostile environment.
