The Feast of the Redeemer is one of the most cherished celebrations for Venetians, blending religious significance with a spectacular show. On Saturday night, fireworks attract thousands of visitors: light and reflections on the unique stage of the San Marco Basin create a kaleidoscope of colors against the backdrop of the city's spires, domes, and bell towers.

This event commemorates the end of the terrible plague that struck Venice between 1575 and 1577. The Redeemer, or "notte famosissima" as Venetians colloquially call it, is an integral part of the culture of the lagoon city's residents. Even today, they continue to honor the gastronomic traditions, folklore, and celebrations passed down by their ancestors, which have made this deeply "Venetian" festival renowned internationally, as well as one of the city's largest tourist attractions.

If you are a resident of the Giudecca Island, you will have priority in booking for the Giudecca area. During the second phase of reservations, which will begin on Thursday 10th July, the reservation system will also be open to non-residents of the Municipality of Venice for the Zattere and San Marco areas, while the Giudecca area will be open to all residents of the Municipality of Venice. In the final phase of reservations the Giudecca areas will also be open to non-residents of the Municipality of Venice.

AVM/Actv informs that from Monday, July 7, 2025 until 5 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2025, the Zattere Spirito Santo stop is suspended to allow for the assembly of the votive bridge for the Feast of the Redeemer. Service will resume regularly at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2025, or at any time upon the end of the complete disassembly of the bridge. All info in the official website.

Trenitalia has planned 14 extraordinary regional trains, in addition to the normal offer, for the night between Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 July 2025. The trains will leave from Venezia Santa Lucia station at the end of the Feast of the Redeemer, facilitating connections with the main locations in the Veneto region.
