Il Museo della Calzatura di Villa Foscarini Rossi ospita l’opera “Danza”

Topics:
During the "International Year of Glass" - as declared by the United Nations in 2022 - and thanks to the meeting between Villa Foscarini Rossi and iDOGI, a Venetian company of exclusive artistic glass creations, an imposing light sculpture is born that celebrates and, at the same time, it breaks the rules of Venetian glass with reflections and transparencies that evoke a dance.
The work rests on six jeweled sandals, catching the eye with a joyful explosion of colors.
The monumental glass vortex is the result of the creativity and desire to dare of Domenico Caminiti, President of IDOGI and the craftsmanship of the Murano glass masters.
To welcome the work these three months is the Shoe Museum of Villa Foscarini Rossi, a seventeenth century estate by the Brenta River. The 700 m² exhibition area hosts a collection of over 1.350 luxury women’s shoes, all designed and produced by the Rossimoda footwear factory in collaboration with the most prestigious international brands. The Museum, opened in 1993, traces the progress of the company over the years, testifying to the local skills and knowledge of the Riviera del Brenta shoemaking district. It also highlights the evolution of fashion in the second half of the nineteenth century, through that one accessory, the shoe. The Harmony and the creativity can be also seen in the frescoes painted by Domenico de’ Bruni and Pietro Liberi in the Foresteria (Guest Lodge) in 1652.
