The Academy of Fine Arts of Venice and the magazine Flash Art Heterotopia Ⅰ, an installation by Peter Halley in at the 58th Venice Biennale. The installation takes place in the exhibition space of the Academy of Fine Arts in one of the Magazzini del Sale in Venice, Magazzini del Sale, n. 3, Dorsoduro 264, Zattere. The exhibition, curated by Gea Politi, director of Flash Art, will take place from May 8th to August 10th.

Occupying the exhibition space forty meters long, Halley has created a sequence of eight interconnected rooms consisting of murals with digital printing, a palette of artificial lights and three-dimensional objects to encode a heterotopy - a term borrowed from Michel Foucault, who defined heterotopia as a differentiated and delimited space, created for a specific purpose, reflecting other things from everyday spaces. Halley invited three artists to collaborate with him on the installation. Lauren Clay and Andrew Kuo created each a mural for the eight rooms.

R.M. Fischer has created a large-scale totem sculpture that will inhabit the final room.
