Fashion stories

a 600-year long tale

Topics:

From Tuesday June 13, 2017 opens to the public the collection of costumes by the Venetian Atelier Pietro Longhi.

In the halls of Palazzo Nani Bernardo overlooking the Grand Canal, opens the anthological exhibition of fashion and Venetian costumes presented in over twenty dresses. From the collaboration between Francesco Briggi, owner and tailor at the Atelier Pietro Longhi, Elizabeth Czarnocki Lucheschi, who opened her palace, and Raffaele Dessì who oversaw the entire performance in content and in the exhibition.

The exhibition aims to tell the story of Venice through some of the most important features of its culture: clothing, porcelain, silverware and furniture which over the centuries have marked the production of Venetian art and materials related to them. In 22 costumes, faithfully reproduced by Francesco Briggi from original records or taken from paintings of the most important Venetian painters, it shows how much the trade first and manufacturing art then,  fashion-related, have been the key for the development and affirmation of the Venetian myth from the Renaissance until today.

The building, located in Dorsoduro Sestiere at number 3197, opens its doors to the public on June 13. For the visit booking is required via email at pietrolonghi@pietrolonghi.com

A small contribution is required to cover the cost of operation and management.
