Da Marco Polo al Bragadin: i grandi personaggi nella casa dei domenicani
Basilica dei Ss. Giovanni e Paolo
The Dominican community of Saints John and Paul celebrates great historical and illustrious figures of the Republic of Venice, whose life events are linked to the Dominicans and the Basilica dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo, such as Marcantonio Bragadin, hero of the siege of Famagusta, Doge Sebastiano Venier, Victor of Lepanto in 1571 or Igor Stravinskij, whose funeral took place in San Zanipolo. Furthermore, a recent discovery reveals the close relationship between Marco Polo and the Dominicans of Saints John and Paul, who translated "Il Milione" for him (from vulgar Latin to Latin) to facilitate its dissemination and make it a sort of tourist guide of the Orient.
From the 4th of June to the 11th of September 2021 the visits (in Italian) will be dedicated to Marco Polo with "Marco Polo alla corte dei domenicani".
Here the data: 4, 11, 18, 25 June, 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 July, 4, 11 September. August on demand.
