Scheduled for September 7-15, 2019, The Venice Glass Week is an international festival dedicated to celebrating, supporting and promoting the art of glass, the artistic and economic activity for which it has been included in the world for more than 1,000 years. Nine days of events, over 180 scheduled appointments, more than 150 organizations involved. The festival is promoted by the Municipality of Venice and conceived by the Venice Civic Museums Foundation, THE GLASS ROOMS - Giorgio Cini Foundation, Veneto Institute of Sciences, Letters and Arts and Promovetro Murano Consortium. The program of the first edition, in 2017, included more than 150 events in over 100 locations between Venice and Murano, attracting more than 75,000 visitors from Venice, Italy and abroad. The second edition, in 2018, recorded 180 events hosted in more than 160 spaces not only in Venice and Murano, but also in Mestre, visitors exceeded 91,000 presences: a sure sign of the dynamism and vitality of the Venetian cultural scene, and a strong indicator of the renewed and growing international interest in artistic glass. The third edition of Venice Glass Week will start from this success, with the aim of being even more ambitious, interesting and impactful.
