Idols, the power of images

15 September 2018-20 January 2019

Topics:
At Loredan Palace in Venice, a journey through time and space. The "Neolithic revolution" and the human depiction, the discovery of the soul. The exhibition IDOLS (Greek eídolon, image)-promoted by Giancarlo Ligabue, established in 2016 from Inti Lambert, and curated by Annie Caubet, Honorary Curator of the Musée du Louvre offers us a fascinating journey through time and space: the first comparison attempt from the East to the West, of works depicting the human body of 4000-2000 b.c.

Through 100 amazing finds-some of outstanding historical and scientific importance and thanks to an educational apparatus engaging, is possible to cover a large geographical area, stretching from the Iberian Peninsula to the Indus Valley, the remote Atlantic ports to the far eastern borders, at a time of the great transition, in which Neolithic villages evolve gradually  in little urban societies of the bronze age.
