The incredible Antarctic adventure of Ernest Shackleton's Endurance

Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Tesa 113 at the Arsenale di Venezia

A STORY. AN EVENT. A GREAT EXPERIENCE.

Adventure and the spirit of survival. An amazing story of exploration and inner strength. Reinhold Messner tells the tale of Ernest Shackleton at the Arsenale di Venezia.
The mountaineer, explorer and raconteur will present a show and memoir dedicated to the early 20th century odyssey of Ernest Shackleton, explorer to the South Pole, and his human and canine crew aboard the ship Endurance. The Endurance took Shackleton - who wanted to be the first man to reach the South Pole on foot - and his men to the shores of the frozen continent. The mission almost immediately became a test to the limits of human survival: the ice trapped and destroyed the ship, and the crew was forced to fight for survival in terrible conditions. An Odyssey that lasted one and a half years before their "impossible" salvation. Shackleton is a symbol of those who fail with honour and fight to the bitter end for the salvation of their team.
