Conferences dedicated to Marcel Duchamp, by Carlos Basualdo.
Marcel Duchamp declared in an interview in 1966 that he has attempted to make of his life a work of art - instead of spending his life making works of art. Taking this extraordinary statement as a starting point, Carlos Basualdo, the Keith L. and Katherine Sachs Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, discusses Duchamp’s seminal work in connection with a group of contemporary artists such as Pierre Huygue, Philippe Parreno and Jasper Johns.
