How to live? Marcel Duchamp and contemporary art
Conferences dedicated to Marcel Duchamp, by Carlos Basualdo.
Marcel Duchamp declared in an interview in 1966 that he has attempted to make of his life a work of art - instead of spending his life making works of art. Taking this extraordinary statement as a starting point, Carlos Basualdo, the Keith L. and Katherine Sachs Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, discusses Duchamp’s seminal work in connection with a group of contemporary artists such as Pierre Huygue, Philippe Parreno and Jasper Johns.
From Wednesday 7 to Friday 9 October at 6pm, Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi
Free entrance until capacity is reached.
Lectures in English with Italian translation.
