From 7th April to 7th August 2016, the exhibition Helmut Newton. Photographies. White Women / Sleepless Nights / Big Nudes, curated by Matthias Harder and Denis Curti and organized by Civita Tre Venezie in collaboration with Helmut Newton Foundation, will showcase more than 200 images of Helmut Newton, one of the most renowned and acclaimed photographers of the XX century. The exhibition includes photoghraphs featured in White Women, Sleepless Nights and Big Nudes, the first three books by Newton, published in the late 70s. In White Women (1976), 61 photos introduce the themes of erotism and nude in fashion photograpy, while in Sleepless Nights (1978) the 69 portraits seem to come out from a film noir. Finally in Big Nudes, 39 black and white pictures, Newton introduces the gigantography as a photographic practice, establishing himself as one of the main protagonist of XX century photography.
