Glass Art for the Aperitif. Transformations of drinking toast. Stories of glass and paper.
Sala Brandolini – Ground Floor
Beginning March, 12 2016 the Murano Glass Museum will showcase an exhibition organized with M.A.X museum of Chiasso. The focus of the exhibition will be the aesthetic of the glass for the aperitivo and its importance for the new form of global communication: advertisement.
The selection will include flyers, posters, playbills, menus, calendars, advertising graphic, metal and ceramic signs, logos, as well as other objects designed for the aperitivo, such as coasters, glacettes, selz bottles and more, illustrating the transformations of the ritual of the drinking toast, from the Belle Époque to the Roaring Twenties, from "la dolce vita" to the contemporary happy hour: a daily ritual that becomes almost a social practice.
