Monday, September 26, 2016 from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm Venice celebrates The European Day of Languages, at Teatro Goldoni (S. Marco, 4650 / B, 30124 Venice). Free admission subject to seating availability.
Proclaimed by the Council of Europe, it'is held for the fourth year in Venice.
Strongly supported by the University Ca 'Foscari of Venice by Dipartimento di Studi Linguistici e Culturali Comparati, Dipartimento diStudi sull’Asia e sull’Africa Mediterranea, dal USR Ufficio Scolastico Regionale Veneto e da Europedirect of the Municipality of Venice, the EDL sets out to encourage lifelong language learning at all ages, in and out of school, based on the “permanent learning” concept, in the certainty that plurilingualism is also a vaccine against intolerance.
On the stage of Teatro Goldoni, Ca? Foscari University and high school students will perform representations, according to different artistic methods (theater, music, reading, video, and more) of more than 20 European and American languages and some languages of the Department of Asian and African Mediterranean Studies, thus expanding the cultures represented.
The Day will host, for the second year, the award ceremony for schools, "Europeans not only for a day."
